General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on the 25th May 2018. This is designed to make data protection policy more suited to the 21st century. This in turn means we will all have more control over what personal information companies hold about us – ultimately, we feel as a company this is a good thing that’s long overdue!

What information do we hold of yours?
As you have purchased off us before, we hold your email address, full name and notes that have been taken down in any email/telephone communication you may have had with anyone within Canime. The data is stored securely and is encrypted to industry standards.
We would have collected some emails during conventions attended, competition giveaways you may have entered or our mailing list you which you opted into for marketing and sending offers to you or to update you on which shows we will be attending in future.

When we’ll use / share your data
-We’ll sometimes share your data with third parties to help us provide a better service for you. Some examples might be giving your address to a courier so they can deliver your order, or a company supplying a service guarantee.
-We will also use the data to occasionally send emails for special offers, products and services we think you might like.
-To inform you which conventions and exhibitions we will be attending and our booth / table locations.
-You will always have the option to opt-out of any re-curing emails for marketing purposes. 

Know your rights
You have many rights regarding your personal data, including seeing what data we access, and updating your information. You also have the right to request we remove your data at any moment in time you feel like it.

How we protect your information

The Internet is not a secure medium. However, we have put in place various security procedures to help ensure that your information is as secure as is possible.

We also keep your information confidential. Our internal procedures cover the storage, access and disclosure of your information.
